The power of thinking like you are “Superman”   (by Dan Robey)

Editor’s Note:  Every once and a while we need a pep-talk, a motivational speech, something to spur us forward in the effort to make the right choices when it comes to eating, exercise, and healthy living.  Found a terrific article by Dan Robey and though you’d find it inspiration as you aim toward the FreeAgentLifeStyle.

I want you to start thinking like you are
Superman.

Sound Crazy?

Sound a little nutty?

It’s powerful.

It’s based in quantum physics science.

It will change your life.

Read on…..

If there was any person real or fictional person
whose qualities you could instantly possess,
who would that person be?

I would like to put forth the proposition that
Superman” would be the perfect person.

Now you are probably thinking I have lost my mind
right?

Read on, I think you will like what you are
about to hear.

Superman is a fictional Action comic book
superhero widely considered to be one of the
most famous and popular of such characters and
an American cultural icon.

He is indestructible, the man of steel, he can
stop a freight train in its tracks….great
powers to have in this day and age, wouldn’t
you say?

OK Dan, this is sounding crazier by the
minute, how is it based in science, and how
can it change my life?

This is where it gets fun.

(For all my female subscribers don’t worry we
have not left you out. There is also a female
version of Superman named Superwoman
she has the same powers that Superman has, you will
refer to her as you do this mental exercise.)

This is where you will learn about the
scientific marvels of the human body.

First let’s look at the qualities that
Superman possesses, that you want to
make yours.

1. Superman is powerful.
2. Superman is virtually indestructible
3. Superman has amazing self esteem.
4. Superman has supernatural powers.
5. Superman can stop a speeding freight train.
6. Superman jumps into immediate action when
troubles arise.

OK, we know that Superman has incredible
supernatural powers, how can that help us?

What good will it do us to simply think we are
Superman?

Here is where science comes in…..this is the
part where you will be AMAZED when you learn
about the supernatural powers “YOU” already
possess!

Best-Selling author and M.D. Dr. Deepak Chopra
tells us that our brains make certain
chemicals called Neuro Peptides . These are
literally the molecules of emotion. (Fear, Joy,
Love, Etc.)

These molecules of emotion are not contained
in your brain only, they actually circulate
throughout your entire body.

Your immune cells which are protecting you
from diseases like infection and cancer, and
many other illnesses are also contained
throughout your body.

Deepak tells us that the amazing part about of
these cells of emotion and immune system
support is that they are intelligent cells.

They are thinking cells!

He also tells us that these immune cells which
are protecting you from disease are constantly
eavesdropping on the conversation that you are
having with yourself.

Your self-talk.

They listen in and adjust their behavior based
on what they hear from you….their master.

So imagine what would happen if you started to
think like Superman.

Here are some of the thoughts you might have
during the day:

” I am indestructible”

” The challenges I face day to day are easily
overcome, after all I am Superman/Supergirl”

” I have supernatural powers.”

” I have incredible strength.”

“Nothing can stop me…..nothing.”

The billions of thinking cells in your body
listen.

Their mission is to complete the picture of
you they see when they hear yourself talk.

They must obey.

Since you are “Superman” you cannot get sick.
Your immune system cells are now fortifying
themselves to make sure of that.

They are making you stronger everyday!

You have the ability to fight off all attacks,
physical, disease, illness….after all you
are Superman.

Superman is confident, your cells of emotion
relating to confidence will now create more
Neuro Peptide chemicals that promote feelings
of power.

Superman is fearless, your cells of the
emotion relating to fear will now create more
Neuro Peptide chemicals that promote feelings
of well being.

A feeling that you fear nothing.

Go for it!

An Omega 3 Supplement Can Contribute To A Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

Many people avoid fish because they potentially contain mercury or simply because some people do not like how they taste. However, there are so many essential vitamins and minerals you can get from fish like Omega 3 fatty acids that are considered one of nature’s miracles. Many people get their daily dose of Omega 3 fatty acids from supplements. This is actually good medical advice. Fish can cause allergies in some people and can be a possible source of mercury. Are Omega 3 supplement tablets really worth it? Read on to find out why Omega 3 fatty acids are imperative to a healthy mind and body.

There are many sources of Omega 3s. Usually, they come from cold water oily fish like herring, tuna and salmon. There are also plant based foods that can offer the same nutrients such as canola oil, flax seeds or walnuts. But these sources are not enough. So to make sure you get your body all the Omega 3 fatty acids it needs, go for an Omega 3 supplement.

In many years of research in the health and medical industry, Omega 3 fatty acids have proven to be the best nutrients a person can load up their body with. This nutrient uses the interventionist approach, not the preventive approach. Omega 3s usually prevent the worsening of diseases.

Exercise And The Brain

Exercise

[ Editor's Note:  Fitness author Jon Benson shared this letter with me and gave me permission to share it with you.  I hope you find it at enjoyable and helpful as I have found it. ]

If you ever needed another good reason to exercise, I’ve got one for you:

Exercise makes your brain bigger.

Actually this isn’t entirely accurate. To be more specific, exercise was found to increase brain size slightly, but far more important to increase “spatial reasoning.”

This is the ability to recognize patterns, remember phrases, numbers, and so-on. This was discovered by researchers at the Universities of Chicago and Pittsburgh.

It is also one of the most important factors to the prevention of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

My mom suffered with dementia the last ten years of her life. But unlike most dementia patients she was fully functional thanks to exercise. She drove and had a mind that was unbelievably sharp right up until an accident injured her beyond the ability to exercise.

After that, she mentally went downhill rapidly. Thankfully, she passed in peace… and she had ten wonderfully active years thanks to her willingness to take up weight training at the age of 71.

She eventually walked up to 3 miles per day and trained in the gym 3 days per week.

That kept her mind sharp, along with fish oil and N-Acetyl L-Carnitine, a wonderful brain nutrient.

Once again, we see the power of exercise. It increases the QUALITY of your life.

Quantity is no where near as important to me as quality.

The links at the bottom of this newsletter are to my books on exercise. Pick the one that appeals to you most and take action.

Your brain will thank you, as will the rest of your body.

One of the best ways to start exercising when you are over 40 is by using the routines covered in “Fit Over 40″.

This book profiles 53 different men and women, age 40 to 80, all sharing their workouts, nutrition plans, and mental empowerment techniques.

It is a MUST-HAVE for anyone wanting to begin exercising or improve their level of fitness after the age of 40.

Eat Chocolate for a Higher IQ

Eat Chocolate for a Higher IQ

There is very good news for people who love chocolate: this delicious dessert does more than lighten up your day. The so much loved chocolate is well known for its positive effects upon the human brain, thus now you have twice more reasons to eat as much chocolate as your heart (and brain) desires!

Chocolate contains a large amount of antioxidants, which make your brain function better. Also, in addition to boosting your intellectual capacity, antioxidants also help your body remain young and fresh for a larger period of time: thus double effect – youth for your mind and body.

In addition to that, chocolate is a source of caffeine, thus maintain your brain in a state of alertness for a longer period. Thus you will be able to stay focused for a more time, fact which will allow you to learn more things in a shorter period of time. Also, you will be able to solve problems which at a first view may seem difficult much faster than if you tried to solve them before eating a piece of chocolate.

Chocolate is called the ingredient which brings happiness because it increases the serotonin form your body. Thus, you will forget about your problems and worries or at least will see them in a more positive way. It is no wonder that after eating a piece of chocolate life seems simpler and much more fun.

If you choose to eat dark chocolate, the benefits your brain will have are even greater, as dark chocolate is a valuable source of fibers. Fibers, as you probably know are essential in having a good and healthy cardiovascular system. If the cardiovascular system works properly, then the brain will also work well.

So, a healthy brain, which functions properly, may start with a piece of chocolate. Also, an increased IQ and improved intellectual capacity can begin with the same piece of chocolate. This means that if you have until now avoided this delicious ingredient or you have taken it out because you are on a diet, you should put it back on your list of favorite foods, as its benefits are far more important than the few extra calories it brings.

Can Mind Games Help You Improve Your Intelligence?

There have been numerous debates about the different types of activities which are able of increasing the IQ. Many of them were thought to be useless, while others were labeled as highly efficient. About mind games, people have always had different opinions: their fans say that these games have made them see things much clearer and have offered them a simple and pleasant way of increasing their IQ, while those disliking these activities strongly affirm that there is no connection between mind games and improving the intelligence.

However, it seems like mind games fans are right: mind games do affect the brain in a positive way. In fact, everything that puts your brain to work steadily and gives it obstacles which it has to overcome has a positive influence upon the human brain. This is mainly because the more you put your brain to work, the more its capacity will increase. Thus, new challenges, such as finding different strategies to defeat your enemy in a chess game or planning your moves in advance in a computer strategy game, have the role of expanding your intelligence and increasing your IQ.

The most efficient mind games which can increase your intellectual abilities are Sudoku, crosswords and other similar word games, chess, computer strategy games, riddles and puzzles. These games are efficient because they force you to think differently and find more than one solution to a problem. This kind of approach will force your brain into working continuously, thus increasing its power of focus and its capacity of learning.

In order to make this type of brain training efficient, it is highly important that you do not cheat, but rather try out until you reach the correct result. Thus, even though the higher levels may be more difficult, you should try and solve them without using any hints. Only this way will your brain be able to work more, and thus increase its intelligence. Perseverance is the key of learning, but is also the key to an extended intellectual capacity, so do your best and remain focus even when things are not going well, because this is the time when your brain leans new things.

If you want to know more about the way in which mind games affect your intelligence, but also discover methods through which you can improve your IQ, then click this link right now.  There you will find a complete guide which will teach you how to increase your intellectual capacities in a simple and natural manner.

A Simple Change In Mindset Will Burn More Fat Fast

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert

Most people that I talk to about health and fitness talk about “getting in shape”.   But I don’t think they realize that their words are actually counterproductive to their aspirations of burning fat.  You hear a lot of people lamenting about being out of shape and saying, “I need to get in shape and burn fat”, or, “I want to get in shape and burn fat.”  What you don’t hear them saying is, “I want to get in shape, burn fat, and stay that way.”

They may want to stay in shape, but their mindset is focused on getting in shape.  This makes you more susceptible to the fad diets and latest exercise gimmick on the market.  You’re so focused on getting in shape that you’ll try almost anything regardless of how silly or difficult to follow it might seem, because you’re entirely focused on the short term goal.

A simple change in the “quick fix” mindset to one of long term success will steer you down the correct path.  You’ll be less enticed by the late night TV hype, and more focused on doing the right things most of the time.  Wouldn’t you agree that life long health and fitness is what’s most important?

Of course creating an environment in your body that allows you to burn fat fast is essential to this goal.  A person who is in shape in their 50s and 60s is a lot more impressive to me than someone who is lean and fit in their 20s and 30s. That’s because the dedication to maintaining the proper exercise plan and a sensible nutrition strategy for the rest of your life is rare to find.  It’s a rare mindset.

If you really want to transform your physique and your health for good, you must make it a lifestyle, a habit.  And that starts in your mind.  That’s what the people who are lean for life do.  In fact, if I think about all of the people I personally know that are in great shape and have been for a while, I start to understand that they have their minds on staying in shape.

They think about it day and night, not obsessively, but with each thing they do…they subconsciously think, “Is this going to positively or negatively impact my long term health and fitness?”. “Am I doing everything I reasonable can to burn fat and live a healthy lifestyle?”.

The good news is that research shows you can develop simple habits like those involved in eating and exercising properly in under a month…sometimes even sooner.  And with the type of exercise and diet tips I recommend to my students, you don’t need o give up your life’s pursuits so that you are working out every day,  nor do you need to follow a wacky diet you can’t reasonably make a lifestyle out of.

And after a few months of practicing these methods, I’ve found that your body will start telling you it wants to keep exercising and eating right…you just won’t feel right with out it.  Why?  Because your body naturally wants to be healthy and lean.

So I urge you to forgo the “get in shape” mindset, and instead embrace the idea of staying in shape and creating that fat burning furnace that is so essential to life long health and fitness.

Imagine yourself in the body of your dreams, today, tomorrow, and 5, 10, 20 or more years from now.  What will you be doing then, in your lean, strong, and healthy body?  Chances are, you won’t be trying to “get in shape”.  Instead, you’ll be burning fat 24/7, and enjoying life as you should…full of vitality and passion.

Caffeine Impact Upon Increasing the IQ

Green tea, black tea and coffee have been long known as energy boosters. They were used in order to revitalize the body and mind when they were giving signs of tiredness. Nowadays, many people rely on these energy increasers to give them power to make it through the day. The day of a modern person starts with a large cup of coffee, while during the day, at least one cup of black or green tea are drank to maintain the level of energy as high as possible. Also, the recent history has also come up with numerous energetic drinks and sodas which are very rich in caffeine and which are highly popular among people who want to increase their brain power or muscular strength for a limited period of time.

The miraculous ingredient which makes all these drinks highly effective in fighting sleep and tiredness and boosting the energy is caffeine. People heavily rely on it for solving all their tasks in a limited period of time and with minimum physical effort. It has become as used as all the other basic foods and drinks.

The reason for which caffeine is so effective is that it affects the release of adenosine, the chemical substance meant to announce the body when it is time to sleep. Without this chemical or when its presence in the body is significantly reduced, the body does not feel the need to sleep, thus prolonging its state of alert. Also, because caffeine fully oxygenizes the brain and reduces the flow of blood which reaches the heart, the brain gets more and more active and energetic, which leads to an increased intellectual activity. This is the reason for which most people signal a higher power of leaning and greater intellectual capacity after consuming a cup of drink containing this wonder-ingredient.

Yet, in addition to firing up the neurons and increasing the intellectual abilities for a limited period of time, the drinks containing caffeine also give the individual a state of well-being. This state is caused by the dopamine, the same substance which is responsible for creating addiction. Thus, if you drink caffeine drinks on a regular basis and you feel like you lose your focus when you do not have a cup of coffee in the morning, you should know that the only one to blame for that is the dopamine.
