Did you gain weight over the holidays? I LOST weight!

Weight Loss

Yes, I am bragging – and why not?

At this time of the year, as the new year approaches, I hear all sorts of folks complaining that they have put on too many pounds.

Then they start into the dreaded “new years resolution” deal:  “I am going to loose this weight by…”

Been there!  Done that.  NO MORE.

On Thanksgiving Eve I checked my weight.  199lbs, down from my high of 267lb a few years back.  A good bit down, eh?

Today is December 30, 2011 – and my weight is (drum roll please) 197lbs.

Oh, I didn’t have time to go to the gym even once.  We lost a family member, had made church obligations, and I had a pretty bad cold for about a week.

So, exercise was not a part of the strategy.

I ate all I wanted on Thanksgiving Day – and it was a tradition turkey dinner with all the fixens.

Christmas Day?  Chinese food with all the Muslims and Jews in our community, followed by a movie with the same folks.  As a Christian, this is a great day to get to meet my neighbors and put into practice the teachings about the Prince of Peace.

Christmas Eve?  I ate all of wanted of a traditional ham dinner.  It was terrific.

Oh, and I have had pizza about five times over the last month or so.

So, I did not starve myself, either.

What did I do?
